SILVER CREEK PROJECT A ROUSING SUCCESS
The Ted Trueblood Chapter of Trout Unlimited and the Emmett Ranger District
of the Boise National Forest held its stream project May 20-21 at the Silver
Creek Plunge Resort. Restoration activities included both temporary and
permanent riparian fence construction, and rebuilding the abutments on the
main bridge across Silver Creek to the resort to provide for handicapped
access. Some spot work with jute log "waddles" also occurred to spur some
streambank stabilization.
Over a dozen members of the Trueblood Chapter participated. The Emmett
Ranger District treated everyone to a barbeque after a day of hard but
rewarding work. The most hardy volunteers stayed over and did some more work
on Sunday.
Chet Bowers made the trip and took some nice
photos which we will post on our
web site located at, www.idfishnhunt.com/tutedt.htm. The Emmett Ranger District also
had photographers on site documenting the work done and the progress made to
date.
